7 % increase in Stockholm: 643 000 guestnights in January 2014

643 000 guest nights was made in hotels and other commercial accommodations in Stockholm County during January 2014. It is an increase by +7 percent, compared to the same period last year. Sweden in total experienced an increase of 4 percent during the same period. 

January represented a gain for both international and domestic guest nights, with an increase of 7% respective 8% compared to the same period last year. As usual in January, we find many Russian visitors. Russian visitors accounted for almost 19 000 overnight stays during the month. Yet this represents a decrease from the same month last year.

The strongest international gain came from outside of Europe with +29 percent. The number of indian guests more than doubled compared to January 2013.
