null

During the summer, from June to August 2014, nearly 4 million overnight stays were made at commercial accommodation establishments in Stockholm County, which is an all-time-high. The increase comes mainly from international guests. Sweden in total experienced a decline of 1 percent during the same period.

The number of domestic guest nights rose by 151,000 (+ 7%) compared to last year while the number of foreign guest nights rose by 170,000, representing an increase of 12%.

- We are happy for the increase of foreign guest nights, especially the increase from outside Europe. It shows that our focus on new airlines with a stronger presence in Asia, such as the Emirates, have been successful, says Peter Lindqvist, CEO of Stockholm Visitors Board

Stockholm is one of Europe's most popular destinations. The main foreign markets are Germany, USA, UK and Norway. In 2013 Stockholm County had 11 million guest nights.
