Thomas Andersson is the new CEO of Stockholm Visitors Board and takes office on February 2. He is following Peter Lindqvist who is retiring.
Thomas has a solid background working with business and political organizations at the local, regional and national level. His most recent appointment was as CEO of Stiftelsen Electrum och Kista Science City AB.
"The tourism industry is increasingly important for Stockholm. In recent years, we have had a strong influx of visitors and Thomas is the ideal candidate to work on further expanding the tourism industry. He has extensive experience and a good network of contacts both inside and outside of Stockholm, and he has excellent qualifications to continue developing Stockholm as a destination for visitors," says Karin Wanngård, Finance Department Commissioner for the Stockholm City Administration and deputy chairman of the Stockholm Business Region.
Apart from Kista Science City, Thomas has been Vice President of the Stockholm Business Region Development and a member of the board at City Samverkan som Stiftelsen Stockholms Nyföretagarcentrum (Stockholm City Foundation for Startup Stockholm).He was also head of communications for Veidekke in Sweden and assistant administrative director at the Finance Department for the City of Stockholm.

The work was done in close partnership with stakeholders from academia, the business world, the media and entertainment and public sectors.
